Paragon Golf Center
Storm Damage Netting Replacement Project
Duluth, Georgia
Project Start Date: Monday, March 9, 2026
Estimated Time on Site: Approximately 3 weeks
Location: 4470 Satellite Blvd, Suite 100, Duluth, GA 30096
Project Overview
Golf Range Netting (GRN) is mobilizing to Paragon Golf Center in Duluth, Georgia to complete a
large-scale storm damage netting replacement project. This work will restore safety, functionality,
and long-term reliability to the driving range’s barrier netting system.
Severe winter weather recently damaged multiple netting panels across the facility. As a result,
full replacement of the affected barrier netting is the safest and most dependable solution.
Paragon Golf Center serves golfers throughout Duluth, Gwinnett County, and the greater metro Atlanta area.
Because the facility sits along Satellite Boulevard—a busy commercial corridor near Sugarloaf Parkway
and Interstate 85—proper containment is essential.
This page will serve as the primary project hub. Photos, videos, and progress updates will be added
throughout construction.
Scope of Work
The scope of work includes complete removal and replacement of storm-damaged golf barrier netting panels,
along with associated cables and hardware. Based on the approved project documentation, GRN will complete
the following tasks:
- Remove and dispose of existing storm-damaged barrier netting
- Replace 26 golf barrier netting panels
- Install panels measuring approximately 150 feet high by 50 feet wide
- Install 26 new high-strength polyester netting panels
- Replace cables and hardware where required
- Utilize specialized access equipment, including 185-foot and 135-foot manlifts
Weather and site conditions permitting, the project is expected to take approximately three weeks
to complete. This full replacement approach ensures the range is returned to safe operating condition.
Netting Material: Why Polyester
The replacement system at Paragon Golf Center will use engineered polyester golf netting.
Polyester is commonly specified for tall barrier systems because it performs well under sustained tension.
Key benefits of polyester netting include:
- High tensile strength suitable for 150-foot-tall applications
- Reduced stretch compared to alternative netting materials
- Excellent resistance to ultraviolet exposure
- Long service life when properly installed and tensioned
When paired with upgraded cables and hardware, this polyester system is designed to withstand
daily use and severe North Georgia weather conditions.
Storm Damage Cause: Wind and Ice
In early 2026, North Georgia experienced multiple winter storm systems, including the
January 30 – February 2 bomb cyclone. These storms produced strong winds and freezing temperatures.
Ice accumulation significantly increases the weight of netting panels and cables.
When combined with high winds, this added load can cause serious structural stress.
Common impacts of wind and ice loading include:
- Torn or deformed netting panels
- Overstressed cables and anchoring hardware
- Accelerated failure of aging components
- Cascading damage across multiple netting sections
Even when damage is not immediately catastrophic, these forces can push a system beyond
its remaining service life. For this reason, full replacement is the most reliable solution.
About Paragon Golf Center
Paragon Golf Center has served golfers in Duluth and the surrounding communities for many years.
The facility is widely recognized as a popular place to practice and refine golf skills.
Its location along Satellite Boulevard makes it easily accessible for golfers from Duluth,
Lawrenceville, Norcross, Suwanee, and the greater metro Atlanta area.
Local Context: Duluth and Satellite Boulevard
Duluth has long served as a transportation and commercial crossroads in North Georgia.
The city’s growth accelerated with the arrival of rail service in the late 19th century.
Today, Satellite Boulevard and Sugarloaf Parkway form one of Gwinnett County’s most active
commercial corridors. As development increases, safety infrastructure becomes increasingly important.
Golf facilities operating near busy roadways must maintain barrier netting systems capable
of performing under extreme conditions.
GRN’s Approach to Safety and Execution
Golf Range Netting specializes in large-scale netting systems for golf courses and driving ranges nationwide.
Projects of this size require experienced crews and specialized equipment.
For this project, GRN will use 185-foot and 135-foot manlifts to safely access elevated netting runs.
Work will be carefully sequenced to maintain a safe jobsite throughout construction.
GRN has completed prior work at this same location, providing valuable familiarity with the facility
and its netting infrastructure.
Project Updates
This page will be updated throughout construction with photos, videos, and progress summaries.
The first update will document site arrival, setup, and initial removal activities.
