The team at Golf Range Netting is full of serious golf fans – golf is in our name after all! While PGA Tour players are teeing off this month outside of Boston for the U.S. Open, we figured we’d share our top four favorite golf courses in the Northeast.

Bethpage State Park, New York – This public course is home to five championship courses, including the world-renowned Black Course that was the site of US Open in 2002 and 2009. The Black Course is often regarded as one of the most difficult golf courses in the world. We love this course because it’s one of the few world-class PGA courses – that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

The Yale Golf Course, Connecticut – When this historic golf course was first built, it was thought to be one of the most expensive courses ever. Built in the 1920s by an engineer, the course is hilly, rocky and rugged. This course is consistently ranked as the best collegiate course in the country.

National Golf Links of America, New York – The home of the 2013 Walker Cup was designed by Seth Raynor who took his favorite features of renowned British golf holes and incorporated them into this picturesque course against the Peconic River.

The Greenbrier, West Virginia – Nestled in the mountains of West Virginia this stunning course was designed by the father of American golf course architecture, Charles Blair Macdonald and is one of the oldest courses in the nation. The course is modeled after iconic European courses so avid golfers can get that European golf feel without ever getting on a plane.
