Before having golf course netting installed on your golf course there are many options to consider in regards to the types of materials that will be used in your installation. One important decision to consider are the types of poles that will be used to support your golf course netting, but how do you choose what’s best for your situation? As with any project, the best way to decide which option is best for your situation is to research your options or speak with an expert. Here we’ll outline what your different golf course netting installation options are and help to point you in the right direction to speak with a knowledgeable expert.

The first type of golf course netting poles are steel poles. While wood and fiberglass support pole options are ideal for many barrier netting applications, steel poles are necessary when you need extra support strength due to heavy netting loads or very tall installations. In addition, steel poles are the only option for very tall netting applications. Here at Golf Range Netting, we can engineer steel poles up to 150′ high! Steel poles can securely and safely support heavy sections of netting and can withstand harsh weather conditions and high winds. Our specially designed steel poles are installed to comply with the Building Wind Code from 90mph to 155mph. We use tapered sectioned steel poles instead of straight steel pipes like some of our competition. This design allows the poles to anchor better making the steel pole netting installation even stronger.

The second type of golf course netting poles are wood poles. Wood poles are the most commonly used, and with good reason! When it comes to golf course netting, wood poles are typically the most cost effective, easiest to install, and blends in the best with surrounding golf course netting environments. At Golf Range Netting, we use Douglas Firs and Southern Yellow Pine treated with CCA and Penta to prevent rotting and combustion. Whenever possible we use local wood to reduce shipping costs and use wood that is appropriate to the local climate and conditions. For example Southern Yellow Pine will not hold up well in cold northern climates. Lastly, it’s important to know that most companies will only install wooden netting poles up to a height of 60 feet. By using options such as retractable netting however, Golf Range Netting can install durable wooden support poles up to heights of 100 feet!

The third type of golf course netting poles are concrete poles. If high strength is a key factor for your netting requirements, concrete support posts may be the best option. Concrete poles can support netting with heights up to 140 feet total (120 feet above grade), are weather resistant, durable, and can be painted any color to blend in with the golf course netting environment. In addition, concrete poles can be used with any type of netting and is a cost effective solution for heavy applications.

The last type of golf course netting poles are fiberglass poles. Until recently the available materials for netting system support poles were limited to wood, concrete, or steel. These options continue to be appropriate in a number of situations, however, a fiberglass pole is a relatively new support pole material that is also available. In many cases fiberglass poles are now actually considered the best option for golf course netting. Fiberglass is a much lighter material than wood, concrete, or steel which allows for reliable installation without the need for additional support processes and materials. For example when using steel poles extra supports are needed to prevent the ground from caving. Also the bases of heavier poles need to be secured in concrete. These additional supports are not needed with lightweight fiberglass support poles. Fiberglass support poles also have a 40 year life span, do not rust, and can reach heights of 150 feet without any special support processes. If more height is needed, steel poles are recommended. Fiberglass can also be used to extend existing poles (up to 150 total feet).

At Golf Range Netting we use superior materials and installation processes and we provide a level of service that is unmatched in the industry. We always provide one-on one consultation and we custom design each barrier netting installation. We do it right the first time which allow us to provide the best guarantee in golf course netting installations.

As we have previously mentioned, safety is the primary concern of any sports arena business owner, or any business owner for that matter. When it comes to the sports arena business owner however, there are safety measures which must be considered that vastly differ from the typical business owner. Golf course lighting systems, for example, are a necessity to any golf course that operates beyond the hours of daylight. Without a golf course lighting system in place, the earning potential of a golf course is restricted simply because of a lack in basic safety equipment. At golf range netting, we are committed to helping businesses meet their potential by providing top quality products and the information necessary to make an informed decision about the services they require. Before going about having golf course lighting systems installed however, there are some things you should research.

First, you should familiarize yourself with the materials and the equipment options that are available to you in order to choose a company that uses quality lighting equipment. At Golf Range Netting we only choose the highest quality manufacturer of lighting, such as “Hubble,” (same as the telescope) lights and equipment, for unmatched quality and durability.

Second, planning is crucial. The golf course lighting systems company you choose should conduct an in-depth evaluation to design the best solution for your situation and provide mock-ups that demonstrate how the lights will look on the fields. At Golf Range Netting we do all this and design lighting systems that minimize “spillage,” or light extending into surrounding neighborhoods. We develop plans that are as efficient as possible so that you can have the best quality product/service in a reasonable amount of time.

Lastly, make sure your golf course lighting systems company adheres to a strict guarantee of their service. Golf Range Netting provides the most comprehensive guarantee in the industry, covering all materials and installation processes. It’s imperative that your company provides a strict guarantee so that you are guaranteed top results.

For more information about golf course lighting systems, please visit the Golf Range Netting website or call 866-938-4448 to speak with an expert lighting specialist.

When it comes to sports netting services with Golf Range Netting, the sky is the limit! While many sports netting projects can use poles as short has 50ft, at Golf Range Netting we have had the pleasure of working on the tallest sports netting installation project in the United States.

During the Summer of 2011, we completed the sports netting project for Palasades Park in New Jersey, which required an installation of 150 ft. steel poles and a custom designed barrier netting. Merely setting the steel poles took roughly two weeks where we even fabricated some of the netting panels on site. The completed sports netting project used over 180,000 sq. ft. of barrier sports netting and 28 steel poles. It was quite the project but resulted in an outstanding finished product to the satisfaction of Palasades Park.

Clearly, no project is too large for our team. We pride ourselves on completing tremendous projects, such as the tallest sports netting installation in the US, with top-quality service at a reasonable price. We’re so confident in our sports netting services that we provide the most comprehensive guarantee in the industry. Even with grandeur projects such as at Palasades Park, we provide the same top-of-the-line guarantee as with all of our projects.

We welcome challenges and will take on any custom sports net projects from tennis and baseball to soccer and driving range netting…no project is to big or too small, the sky is the limit!

In any type of sports field or arena safety is the number one concern of any business owner. In addition, utility is another obvious concern in bringing athletes the best space possible to exercise their sports abilities. Invisible sports netting not only covers the concerns of safety and utility, but also adds an element of aesthetic appeal to golf ranges and athletic fields. More specifically, invisible sports netting provides:

●	Protection for participants, spectators, nearby properties, and cars on adjacent streets
●	Flexibility for sports fields in areas of limited space
●	Improved visibility of the field and the natural surroundings of the course or field
●	Aesthetic appeal for neighbors and surrounding communities to the athletic field

In many cases a sports net is made with netting that has been dyed black. In fact, because black netting is so popular, many sports netting companies only provide the option of black sports nets. Golf Range Netting however understands the importance of the aesthetics of a golf range or athletic field and carries a variety of options when it comes to the color and style of sports netting.

It’s important to know that you don’t have to sacrifice strength, durability, or your budget if you choose to go with the more visually appealing sports net. Whether you choose sports netting that is black, grey, or green (or whatever color you choose), the netting will still result in the same size, weight, grade, UV protection, and cost as the standard black option.

The “invisible” affect is created depending on the color dye you choose for your sports netting and the surrounding environment in which the net will be mounted. The most popular colors chosen at Golf Range Netting are black, grey, and green. However, we are able to dye your sports net in whatever color you believe would be best for your sports field.

At Golf Range Netting we use only premium barrier netting materials and installation processes allowing us to provide the most comprehensive guarantee in the industry. Providing safe, durable, and aesthetically appealing products is our main goal.
